Biography

Dr. Brewin's research focuses primarily on the use of satellite data for understanding marine biogeochemistry. His interests include: marine optics, marine primary production, marine ecology, bio-optical modelling, and developing algorithms for remote-sensing of phytoplankton groups. He is also interested in using citizen science to expand observations of key environmental indicators, such as water temperature and water quality, in under-sampled regions. Dr. Brewin work at global and regional scales, spanning a range of aquatic ecosystems from the lakes to the open ocean, and from tropical to polar waters. He loves to spend time in the field.
