Dr. Christian Lønborg is currently a marine scientist at Aarhus University, Denmark. In 2009, he received a Ph.D. degree in marine biogeochemistry based on work conducted in the United Kingdom and in Spain. Following his Ph.D., he held various research positions in Europe and Australia before joining Aarhus University in 2020. He has spent his career studying the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus, with a special emphasis on Dissolved organic matter (DOM). During this work, he has amongst other topics, investigated the degradation of organic matter, plankton metabolism, as well as impacts of acidification and warming in tropical and temperate marine waters.
